Answers to the questions we’re asked most often about working with Commecs. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, get in touch and our team will run through it with you directly.
Commecs is a specialist communications contractor designing and delivering complete fibre, data, structured, wireless and network cabling infrastructure solutions. We handle everything from initial site assessment and design through to civil pathways, cable installation, splicing, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
Fibre isn’t an add-on for us, it’s a core part of our capability. We own our own fusion splicing equipment rather than relying on hired-in operators, and we bring pathway, cabling, fibre and wireless work together under one team. That means one point of accountability for the outcome, instead of clients having to manage separate civil, cabling, fibre and commissioning contractors.
Our team brings 15+ years of carrier-level telecommunications experience, built on the foundational expertise of working on a carrier-grade national fibre optic network.
Commecs is based in Perth, Western Australia, and delivers projects across WA with the ability to support projects nationally.
Both. We work closely with clients, consultants, builders, technology providers and project teams to deliver communication systems that are reliable, scalable and aligned with operational requirements.
Our core services cover fibre optic solutions, structured cabling systems, Wi-Fi surveys and wireless installation, communications rooms and racks, network upgrades, testing and fault finding, maintenance and support, and design, planning and project management. See our Services page for the full detail on each

Yes, this is one of our core capabilities. Most of our projects involve a mix of structured copper and data cabling alongside fibre backbone and fusion splicing work.
Yes. We offer Wi-Fi surveys, coverage heatmapping and predictive wireless design, followed by access point installation, cabling and post-installation validation.
Yes. We own our fusion splicing equipment rather than hiring it in, which means the most technical stage of a fibre project stays in-house rather than being subcontracted out.
Yes. We carry out fibre network repairs and restoration, existing fibre network audits, fault finding, and relocations or capacity upgrades on networks that are already in place.
Every project runs through the same seven stages: Assess, Design, Plan, Install, Test and Commission, Document and Handover, and Maintain and Upgrade. The scale changes depending on the project, but the discipline stays the same. See our How We Work page for the full breakdown.
